| Patti Parker - President I've been a WBS member for 5 years but took the leap and started volunteering in 2007 and joined the Board in 2008, and was elected president in 2009. My goal is to get the Blues in Schools program going strong again and encourage the board to think about new ways of doing things and changes we can make to our events.
I love a wide range of music (some only in small doses) but the Blues is my favorite, maybe because there are so many varieties of it to listen to, you never get bored with the same old sound! Also, it has such an interesting history and with the help of the WBS, the Blues will have a great future.
I want to thank all our members and the businesses who support us.
Contact me at webmaster@wichitablues.org or at 305-7495 in the evenings.

I have had a love affair with the blues for over 40 years now. In the past 23 years, I have been President three times. I believe that Wichita has always had a grand blues scene. I spent many years on the radio playing the blues and still love sharing it with people. In the past few years, venues have closed, musicians have faded away and the audience has grown older. The WBS needs you, more than ever to keep the blues. |

I have been a WBS member for over 15 years and have been on the board 4 years,
during that time I have been Merchandise Chairman and continue to assist in that
area, and last spring I also became Membership Chairman. I want to help the WBS increase our presence in the community as well as increase our membership. I’m passionate about supporting
and keeping the Blues Alive in Wichita!

Interested in becoming a board member and making a difference? All of the wonderful things this organization does are accomplished by volunteers which are lead by a small group of dedicated members who offer their talent and time as the WBS Board of Directors. That's right 'a small group of dedicated people can make a big difference in the world and so can you! We have 9 positions available on our board and each board member is elected for a two year term.
