 | Randy Crump - president
I have had a love affair with the blues for over 40 years now. In the past 23 years, I have been President twice and here I am again. I believe that Wichita has always had a grand blues scene. I spent many years on the radio playing the blues and still love sharing it with people. In the past few years, venues have closed, musicians have faded away and the audience has grown older. The WBS needs you, more than ever to keep the blues alive and well. Come join us.

I fell in love with the blues around 1993 at the Kansas City Jazz and Blues Festival. I was then introduced to the Wichita Blues Society, Became a member and started volunteering. After being voted volunteer of the year two years in a row, I decided to give it a run on the Board, just getting my feet wet with that. We have a lot of great musicians here and with venues lacking, I'm excited about being a part of creating more blues events, and getting people back to the blues here in ICT!

I'm a new board member just gettin' my feet wet! My true love introduced me to the Blues a couple years ago, and now I'm hooked on her AND the Blues. Wichita has a bunch of great Blues artists, and I'm excited to be a part of promoting the Blues here. I'm taking care of this website now - hope you like it!

I have been a member of the WBS board for 3+ years . I have served as secretary, and remain editor of the Blues Riff, the WBS newsletter, as I have been for the last few years. I've been a guitar player for about 25 years. I currently play with Made From Scratch, (Winners of the 2005 WBS Blues Challenge I might shamelessly add) and also play with the Wingtip 6. ken@wingtip6.com

Interested in becoming a board member and making a difference? All of the wonderful things this organization does are accomplished by volunteers which are lead by a small group of dedicated members who offer their talent and time as the WBS Board of Directors. That's right 'a small group of dedicated people can make a big difference in the world and so can you! We have 9 positions available on our board and each board member is elected for a two year term.
